A Drowning*
You may remember this track as the first single released off the EP. Bands often use an attention-grabbing, energetic song to introduce their latest work to the world, and HTDA is no exception.
To me, the most interesting thing about 'A Drowning' is the unique approach taken toward drowning itself. Drowning is typically portrayed as a violent and unattractive way to die. However, Mariqueen demonstrates that if you stop fretting over that whole oxygen deprivation thing, drowning can be a seductive experience similar to a Percoset overdose (but sexier because no one vomits). The only downside to this technique vs. the classic approach is that it takes longer (just over seven minutes in this case), but your dignity is totally worth it.

The Believers*, **
AKA the "Cacophony of Beats." Initially available exclusively on iPads for whatever reason, this track starts out sounding like Jan Hammer's Miami Vice theme. Also, some experienced NIN fans may notice that musically, 'The Believers' is reminiscent of that song off Ghosts where Trent repeats, "Breathe... us in. Slowly. Slowly."
BBB**
In this song, the Reznors appear to be suggesting that married people have kinky sex (yeah, right). Either that or Mariqueen is generally bossy and indecisive. Personally, the lyrics brought up unpleasant childhood memories of Catholic Church (not like that, you pervs), where I had to sit, stand and kneel every few minutes throughout a never-ending liturgy.
Fun fact: If you replace "boots" with "boobs," 'BBB' is far more enjoyable to sing along to.

Fur Lined*
If you like the bassline from NIN's 'Only,' you're gonna love this track. Mariqueen comments on her magical ability to alternate between being an animal and a chemical, apparently in a place where everything is echoing (off these walls). I don't have much else to add because I'm still thinking about big black boobs.
Parasite*, **
Abrasive and delightfully distorted, this track pays homage to the often overlooked joys of offering oneself up as a host species. Seriously, try it sometime; I recommend Botflies.
The Space in Between*, ***
This is that song HTDA made a video for. You know, the one where Trent and Mariqueen have murdered each other and Atticus apparently set them on fire for shits and giggles. Normally it takes married couples a few years to get to the point where they fantasize about double homicide, but then again, most couples aren't so fucking goth.
